TRANSPARENT DAY Nov 5, First Sunday in November

In 2009, Sharon Brackett and her friend Erica started TransParent Day to create a safe place where they and others could forget about any conflicting gender and parenting issues, if only for a day. The idea was simple. If you are trans and you have kids, you can celebrate a day with them without any of the traditional trappings, angst or pain of the other Parent days. For more information visit transparentday.org.

CAN WE TALK?   Sunday 10/29 Following Worship
We see it, we hear it, and we feel it. There is an air of division, heated rhetoric, and divisiveness in our nation, pushing many to confront some hard questions about who we are as a nation. With demonstrations, in Charlottesville, and elsewhere, racial and cultural tensions are on the rise. Many people are angry, upset, confused and afraid. What can we do, particularly as people of faith and social justice advocacy, to provide support, understanding, and compassionate action? Let’s talk about it. Join in the discussion beginning after worship from 1:00 – 2:30 pm led by our Clergy Intern, Wendy Hamilton. Pizza and light refreshments will be provided. Please join us!
