Welcome to MCC NOVA!

Metropolitan Community Church of Northern Virginia is committed to creating a vital and adventurous spiritual community for all people, preparing for our work in the world through an engaged and growing spirituality that is relevant 24/7. We are a welcoming and affirming progressive spiritual community with a specific outreach to LGBTQI people and our allies who are seeking authentic spirituality and renewal through varied celebration experiences, educational and social enrichment opportunities, and tangible expressions of love through social justice and outreach opportunities.

Whether you are a current member, attender, or a old friend, we would love to see you.
Our worship begins Sunday morning at 11:00 a.m.

Be sure to check the coming events page for happenings in our community!

Statement from the Board of Directors

Safety Issue Regarding a Potential Threat
The LGBTIQA+ communities have long been the recipient of anger, ire, and violence in many forms. The Board of Directors has recently been made aware of a concern relayed by a third party potentially posing a threat to MCC of Northern Virginia. Very little is known definitively at this time, and there is no evidence of anything that is actionable. While vague, and without a specific source, we have taken this concern very seriously. The authorities have been notified. The matter is under investigation. As a result, you may be aware of an enhanced police presence around MCC of Northern Virginia. While this step is being taken out of an abundance of caution, we also recognize that this may make some of our members and friends uncomfortable. This presence, while designed with safety in mind, also reminds us that there is always a level of risk that we are unable to mitigate, and, as with the pandemic, each person must make choices for themselves as to their level of comfort in being present for worship, even when very little is known for certain. While we continue to host in-person worship at this time, we have live-streamed our worship services since March 2020, and we will continue to do so moving forward.

We request your continued prayers during this time.
Peace,
The Board of Directors

Prayer and Care
There are special care and prayer needs during this time. Rev. Emma or a Care Minister will make use of FaceTime or ZOOM in order to have a time of individual conversation and/or prayer with you. Just ask and we will schedule a time for this.
If you have any special needs of any kind or any prayer requests during this challenging time,
please send them to Rev. Emma with REQUEST in the subject line.

MCC NoVA Stewardship
If you believe in the existence of affirming churches and denominations, and that they serve as an essential counterpoint to less affirming views, supporting their existence is necessary for their future.
MCC NoVA’s vision for the future is to continue outreach and ministry to marginalized communities, and to become an LGBTIQQ Community Center in the Heart of Fairfax City!
Help us to make these real in 2022 and 2023! This is a link for receiving on-line giving.
You may also mail a check directly to the church office:
The Metropolitan Community Church of Northern Virginia
10383 Democracy Lane
Fairfax, VA 22030
We are grateful for your continued generosity as we move forward into the future- a future with deep needs, and boundless possibilities for our community!
Blessings and Thank You!

Getting Together and Moving Forward
Enhanced airflow and filtration are provided.
There is physical distancing. Masks are required. We are also requesting that folks
be fully vaccinated and boosted.

While all reasonable safeguards are taken, there will always be some measure of risk, and each person needs to make their own determination as to what is most comfortable for them.
